Carolyn Frayn is a Canadian artist, photographer, graphic designer, website developer and fine art printmaker living in Calgary, Alberta. She has developed her unique approach to visual creativity for over 25 years and is known globally for her evocative, ethereal imagery, receiving attention with series like Inhabitance, a body of work captured with a pinhole camera that explores the feminine spirit, hoping to transcend literal representation.

Working in traditional and digital methods, hands on approaches and alternative processes, oils, encaustics and montaging elements, Carolyn embraces whatever means known, or about to be known, to realize her final work. All processes, captures, builds, prints and techniques are the result of Carolyn’s self-taught approach to life and art. Gallery shows within the last five years, included her fine art prints, mixed media and cradled encaustic pieces from several series.
